Hollis has spent the last 16 years coaching, playing and scouting at the university and the junior levels.
Hollis played one year at the University of New Brunswick (1990-91) and two years at the Université de Moncton (87-89), and won the A.S.I.A Conference in '88-'89.
After graduating from the University of New Brunswick with a degree in Physical Education, Hollis began coaching in 1991. He coached New Brunswick's Provincial Under 16 & 17 Men's Teams, in the program of Excellence for four years. In 1991, Hollis was coach of New Brunswick's Under 18 Women's Team, which participated at the 1999 Canada Winter Games. He has also worked as a scout for several teams form the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In 1998, he was an Assistant Coach for the Acadie-Bathurst Titans of the QMJHL.

Hollis is Fluent in both English and French. Hollis resides in Petit-Rocher,
New Brunswick with his wife Linda and two girls, Elissa and Jolyane.
